Morovella Filtered Shower Head

It replaces your existing handheld shower head and filters your water as it passes through the handle. Two cartridges sit inside: a carbon fibre cartridge that helps reduce chlorine, rust, odour and sediment, and a Vitamin C cartridge that adds a light, fresh scent. The water then leaves through a 304 stainless steel spray face with 392 fine outlets.

Water flows through two stages inside the handle:

• Carbon fibre (stage 1): a dense activated carbon fibre cartridge that helps reduce chlorine and odour and traps rust and sediment.
• Vitamin C (stage 2): a cartridge of Vitamin C beads that gives your shower a soft, fresh scent.

Together they are rated for around 10,000 litres, which is roughly 3–4 months for most households.

No. Morovella is a filter, not a water softener. It does not remove the calcium and magnesium that cause limescale, so you may still see some build-up on glass and tiles in hard-water areas. What it does is help reduce chlorine, rust, odour and sediment, which is what many people notice on their hair and skin.

If your shower has a detachable handheld head on a flexible hose, it almost certainly will. Morovella uses the standard G1/2 (½″) connection found on most UK shower hoses.

It is not designed for fixed wall-mounted or ceiling rain heads, or for showers where the head is built into the arm.

1. Unscrew your old shower head from the hose.
2. Check the rubber washer is seated inside the hose nut.
3. Screw the Morovella head onto the hose by hand until snug. Do not over-tighten.
4. Run the water for about 30 seconds before your first shower to flush the new cartridges.

No. It screws on by hand in about a minute. You keep your existing hose and shower holder.

No. You get the shower head with both cartridges already fitted. It connects to your existing hose and sits in your existing holder.

It works with mixer showers, combi boilers and most electric showers that use a detachable handheld head on a standard hose. Some electric shower manufacturers ask you to use only approved heads, so if you have an electric shower, it is worth checking your shower’s manual first.

No. It does not heat or cool your water. It is rated for water between 5 and 65 °C, which covers normal shower temperatures.

The 392 fine 0.25 mm outlets are designed to give a strong, even spray, with a rated flow of 5–7 litres per minute. If you have a very low-pressure system, such as some gravity-fed showers, you may notice a small difference. If the flow drops noticeably over time, it is usually a sign the filters need replacing.

• Unscrew the head and check the rubber washer is sitting flat inside the hose nut.
• Screw it back on by hand until snug. Over-tightening can squash the washer and cause leaks.
• If it still drips, wrap a few turns of PTFE tape around the thread.
• If water leaks from the handle base, make sure the knurled refill base is screwed on fully.

Every 3–4 months, or about 10,000 litres. You may need to change them sooner if you live in a hard-water area, have a large household, or notice the flow dropping or the scent fading.

1. Turn off the water and unscrew the knurled base at the bottom of the handle.
2. Slide out the old cartridges, noting the order they came out in.
3. Insert the new cartridges in the same order.
4. Screw the base back on by hand and run the water for 30 seconds.

Each Morovella refill set contains one carbon fibre cartridge and one Vitamin C cartridge. Our 6-month bundle includes one refill set and our 12-month bundle includes three, so you are covered from day one.

No. Every option is a one-off purchase. The bundles simply include the refill sets you need up front, so there is nothing to cancel.

Wipe the stainless steel spray face with a soft cloth every week or two. In hard-water areas, rub the outlets with your fingertip to loosen any limescale, or hold a cloth soaked in diluted white vinegar against the face for a few minutes, then rinse. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners.

Used cartridges contain carbon and Vitamin C beads and should go in your general waste, unless your local council says otherwise. The cardboard packaging can be recycled.
